The Ostriches Home Page

In times like these, we gaze in awe at our successful neighbours. Flying high and achieving trophies we can only dream of. Just remember this. Most birds may be able to soar into the clouds, but Ostriches never get sucked into jet engines.

In spite of possessing tremendous speed the Ostrich never gets anywhere. It's tiny brain makes it run in circles. What bad season?

Dewsbury Ostriches Rugby League Club

Chairman Admits He Will Lose No Sleep Over HMRC Investigation.

The recent examination of the Ostrich Trust accounts and payments made is not causing our Chairman any head-aches. Whilst the trust was intended to support community rugby, funds have been used to give payments to players, and supposed volunteers. There was also some question of payments into the trust from Car Boot fees. The Chairman denies any knowledge of anything illegal occuring and remade his plea the the Ostrich faithful to dig deep to keep the club going.

Season Finished, Are the Club

The Ostriches finished the season on a high in what could be their last season. Continued financial problems have reached crisis point and HMRC are scrutinising the Trust fund for irregular payments to keep the club going. The Chairman has no desire to add any of his personal fortune to the club and his attempts to extract money from the Ostrich fans has failed miserably. Further updates as soon as available.
